DEVOTIONAL

Monday September 2

Lord, open our lips.

And our mouth shall proclaim your praise.

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

now and forever. Amen.

The mercy of the Lord is everlasting:

Come let us adore him

Prayer of Confession

Dear Heavenly Father, we bow our heads before you and we confess that we have too often forgotten that we are yours. Sometimes we carry on our lives as if there was no God and we fall short of being a credible witness to You. For these things we ask your forgiveness and we also ask for your strength. Give us clear minds and open hearts so we may witness to You in our world. Remind us to be who You would have us to be regardless of what we are doing or who we are with. Hold us to You and build our relationship with You and with those You have given us on earth.

Psalms 148:1-5, 11-14

Hallelujah!

Praise GOD from heaven,

praise him from the mountaintops;

Praise him, all you his angels,

praise him, all you his warriors,

Praise him, sun and moon,

praise him, you morning stars;

Praise him, high heaven,

praise him, heavenly rain clouds;

Praise, oh let them praise the name of GOD—He spoke the word and they were!

Earth's kings and all races,

leaders and important people,

Strong men and women in their prime,

and yes, graybeards and little children.

Let them praise the name of GOD—

it's the only Name worth praising.

His radiance exceeds anything in earth and sky;

he's built a monument—his very own people!

Praise from all who love GOD!

Israel's children, intimate friends of GOD.

Hallelujah!

(take a few moments to praise God with your own words)

Revival Verse of the Day

2 Timothy 4:3-5- For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

Prayer of Surrender

•Ask God for His mercy to enable FRC to present our body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is FRC’s spiritual worship (Romans 12:1).

Confess to the Lord that FRC doesn’t have the understanding or the authority to direct our own steps (Jeremiah 10:23). Pray that He would help FRC look to Him as our Master.

•Pray for God’s daily grace to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Jesus. Acknowledge to Him that whoever wants to save her life at all costs will lose it, but whoever loses her life for Jesus’ sake will save it (Luke 9:23-24). Share with Jesus that FRC won’t withhold anything – including our very life – from Him.

•Echo Jesus’ own prayer in the garden: “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from us. Yet not what we will, but what you will.” (Mark 14:34-35). Consider what aspects of God’s will FRC may be resisting, and what “cup” FRC may be refusing.

•Express to God FRC’s desire to humble ourselves under His mighty hand, trusting that when the time is right, He will exalt FRC (I Peter 5:6).

•Concede to Jesus that He is the true vine, and His Father is the vinedresser. Humbly acknowledge to Him that He has the right to take away every branch in Him that does not bear fruit, and to prune every branch that does bear fruit, that it may bear more fruit.

•Pray that God would teach FRC to abide in Christ, and Christ in FRC. Confess that as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can FRC, unless FRC abide in Jesus. Claim the promise that whoever abides in Jesus and Jesus in him will bear much fruit, for apart from Him FRC can do nothing(John 15:1-7).

•Take a moment to meditate on the truth that FRC is not FRC’s own, for FRC was bought with a price.

•Share with God FRC’s desire to glorify Him in FRC’s body, as it belongs to Him (I Corinthians 6:20).

Tuesday September 3

Send out your light and your truth, that they may lead me, and bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling. Psalm 43:3

Prayer of Confession

Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.

Most merciful God,

we confess that we have sinned against you

in thought, word, and deed,

by what we have done,

and by what we have left undone.

We have not loved you with our whole heart;

we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.

We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.

For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,

have mercy on us and forgive us;

that we may delight in your will,

and walk in your ways,

to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen.

A Call to Praise

Come let us sing to the Lord;

let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation.

Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving

and raise a loud shout to him with psalms.

For the Lord is a great God,

and a great King above all gods.

In his hand are the caverns of the earth,

and the heights of the hills are his also.

The sea is his, for he made it,

and his hands have molded the dry land.

Come, let us bow down, and bend the knee,

and kneel before the Lord our Maker.

For he is our God,

and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand.

Oh, that today you would hearken to his voice!

Glory be to the Father and to the Son,

And to the Holy Spirit.

As it was in the beginning, is now,

And will be forever. Amen.

(take a few moments to praise God with your own words)

Revival Verse of the Day

Psalm 80:19 – Restore us, O Lord God of hosts!  Let your face shine, that we may be saved!

Prayers for:

The Church

Show forth your mercy, O Lord;

And grant us your salvation.

Clothe your ministers with righteousness;

Let your people sing with joy.

And sustain us with your Holy Spirit.

The Nation(s)

Lord, keep this nation under your care;

And guide us in the way of justice and truth.

Let your way be known upon earth;

Your saving health among all nations.

Let not the needy, O Lord, be forgotten;

Nor the hope of the poor be taken away.

Sincere Faith

Lord of all power and might, the author and giver of all good things: Graft in our hearts the love of your Name; increase in us true religion; nourish us with all goodness; and bring forth in us the fruit of good works; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Mission

O God and Father of all, whom the whole heavens adore: Let the whole earth also worship you, all nations obey you, all tongues confess and bless you, and men and women everywhere love you and serve you in peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Guidance

Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Human Family

O God, you made us in your own image and redeem us through Jesus your Son: Look with compassion on the whole human family; may the power of the gospel take away the arrogance and hatred which infect our hearts; break down the walls that separate us; unite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and confusion to accomplish your purposes on earth; we long for that day when people from all nations and races will serve you in harmony around your heavenly throne; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prisons and Correctional Institutions

Lord Jesus, for our sake you were condemned as a criminal: Visit our jails and prisons with your pity and judgment. Remember all prisoners, and bring the guilty to repentance and amendment of life according to your will, and give them hope for their future. When any are held unjustly, bring them release; forgive us, and teach us to improve our justice. Remember those who work in these institutions; keep them humane and compassionate; and save them from becoming brutal or callous. And since what we do for those in prison, O Lord, we do for you, constrain us to improve their lot. All this we ask for your mercy's sake. Amen.

The General Thanksgiving

Almighty God, Father of all mercies,

we your unworthy servants give you humble thanks for all your goodness and loving-kindness

to us and to all whom you have made.

We bless you for our creation, preservation,

and all the blessings of this life; but above all for your immeasurable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory. And, we pray, give us such an awareness of your mercies,

that with truly thankful hearts we may show forth your praise, not only with our lips, but in our lives, by giving up ourselves to your service,

and by walking before you in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit,

be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.

Prayers of Intercession

Pray for the people in our directory by name F-J as the Holy Spirit leads you.

(If God gives you a special message for any of the people you are praying for while you are praying for them, let them know what that message is in a call, text, email or when you see them at church.)

Benediction

Let us bless the Lord.

Thanks be to God.

Wednesday September 4

Let the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, our strength and our redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Prayer of Confession

Almighty God, you liberally pardon all who repent and turn to You, now satisfy in every repentant heart the promise of redeeming grace; forgiving all our sins, and cleansing us from an evil conscience; through the perfect sacrifice of Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

A Song to the Lamb

Revelation 4:11, 5:9-10, 13

Splendor and honor and kingly power

are yours by right, O Lord our God,

For you created everything that is,

and by your will they were created and have their being;

And yours by right, O Lamb that was slain,

for with your blood you have redeemed for God,

From every family, language, people, and nation,

a kingdom of priests to serve our God.

And so, to him who sits upon the throne,

and to Christ the Lamb,

Be worship and praise, dominion and splendor,

forever and for ever more.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Amen.

(take a few moments to praise God with your own words)

Revival Verse of the Day

2 Chronicles 7:14 – If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Prayers for Our Church

•Ask that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give the members of our church the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him, having the eyes of our hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which He has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power toward you who believe (Ephesians 1:17-19).

•Pray that the members of our local church would speak evil of no one, avoid quarreling, be gentle, and show perfect courtesy toward all people (Titus 3:2). Pray likewise that they would handle confrontations biblically, and that church discipline would be exercised when necessary (Matthew 18:15-17).

•Ask the Lord to enable and inspire our church members to use their spiritual gifts to serve each other (I Peter 4:10-11).

•Pray that our local church congregation would take seriously its participation in “The Great Commission” – going and making disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything Jesus commanded (Matthew 28:19-20).

•Ask the Lord to grant a spirit of unity in our local church – that you may all be one, just as God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ are one. Pray that the members would be one in God, so the world may believe that Jesus was truly sent by God (John 17:21).

•Beg God to enable our local church to receive the word of God not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, and that this Word would work in those who believe (I Thessalonians 2:13).

•Pray that our church members would exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin (Hebrews 3:13).

•Ask God for His grace in helping our church consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near (Hebrews 10:24-25).

•Pray that our church members would have genuine love for the Lord, for each other, and for the world.

• Ask for God’s grace to help you all abhor what is evil and hold fast to what is good;

•Pray that our local congregation would not be slothful in zeal, but would be fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. Ask that He would guide you in rejoicing in hope, being patient in tribulation, being constant in prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, and seeking to show hospitality (Romans 12:9-13).

Thursday September 5

Send out your light and your truth, that they may lead me, and bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling. Psalm 43:3

Prayer of Confession

Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor. (confess your sins to the Lord as the Holy Spirit opens your heart to the Father’s loving kindness)

Psalm 103.8,10-12

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

A Call to Praise

Be joyful in the Lord, all you lands;

serve the Lord with gladness

and come before his presence with a song.

Know this: The Lord himself is God;

he himself has made us, and we are his;

we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving;

go into his courts with praise;

give thanks to him and call upon his Name.

For the Lord is good;

his mercy is everlasting;

and his faithfulness endures from age to age. And to the Holy Spirit.

As it was in the beginning, is now,

And will be forever. Amen.

Revival Verse of the Day

Matthew 24:14 – And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Prayer for our Country

Almighty God, who has given us this good land for our heritage: We humbly beseech you that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of your favor and glad to do your will. Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion us into one united people. Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in your Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that, through obedience to your law, we may show forth your praise among the nations of the earth. In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in you to fail; all which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

For the President of the

United States

and all in Civil Authority

O Lord our Governor, whose glory is in all the world: We commend this nation to your merciful care, that, being guided by your Providence, we may dwell secure in your peace. Grant to the President of the United States, the Governor of this State, and to all in authority, wisdom and strength to know and to do your will. Fill them with the love of truth and righteousness, and make them ever mindful of their calling to serve this people in your fear; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.

A Prayer of Self-Dedication

Almighty and eternal God,

so draw our hearts to you,

so guide our minds,

so fill our imaginations,

so control our wills,

that we may be wholly yours,

utterly dedicated unto you;

and then use us, we pray you, as you will,

and always to your glory and the welfare of your people;

through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

The Victims of Addiction

Blessed Lord, you ministered to all who came to you: Look with compassion upon all who through addiction have lost their health and freedom. Restore to them the assurance of your unfailing mercy; remove from them the fears that beset them; strengthen them in the work of their recovery; and to those who care for them, give patient understanding and persevering love. Amen.

Friday September 6

Send out your light and your truth, that they may lead me, and bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling. Psalm 43:3

Prayer of Confession

Almighty God, we are unworthy to come into your presence, because of our many sins. We do not deserve any grace or mercy from you, if you dealt with us as we deserve. We have sinned against you, O Lord, and we have offended you. And yet, O Lord, as we acknowledge our sins and offenses, so also do we acknowledge you to be a merciful God, a loving and favorable Father, to all who turn to you. And so we humbly ask you, for the sake of Christ your son, to show mercy to us, and forgive us all our offenses. Forgive the sins of our youth, and the sins of our old age. By your Spirit, O God, take possession of our hearts, so that, not only the actions of our life, but also the words of our mouths, and the smallest thought of our minds, may be guided and governed by you. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be all honor and glory, now and forever.

A Call to Praise

Be joyful in the Lord, all you lands;

serve the Lord with gladness

and come before his presence with a song.

Know this: The Lord himself is God;

he himself has made us, and we are his;

we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving;

go into his courts with praise;

give thanks to him and call upon his Name.

For the Lord is good;

his mercy is everlasting;

and his faithfulness endures from age to age. And to the Holy Spirit.

As it was in the beginning, is now,

And will be forever. Amen.

(take a few moments to praise God with your own words)

Revival Verse of the Day

Colossians 4:2-4 – Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.

Prayer for Wisdom

•Thank God for His gracious promise to give wisdom generously to those who lack it. Claim that promise for yourself by asking Him for it in faith (James 1:5).

•Acknowledge to God that fools always think their way is right, but a wise person listens to advice (Proverbs 12:15). Ask the Lord to help you to be humble and teachable, willing to ask for and receive counsel from others.

•Pray that you would grow in wisdom as God defines it, and that you would humbly and wisely do good works.

•Ask Him to keep you from bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, and also from boasting and deceit, as those attributes are not characteristics of godly wisdom.

•Implore God to fill you with the wisdom from above – wisdom that is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere (James 3:13-17).

•Affirm to God your responsibility to pay careful attention to how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.

•Ask for His grace to keep you from foolishness, and to enable you to understand what the will of the Lord is (Ephesians 5:15-17).

•Ask God to help you restrain your words and keep a cool spirit, as those are evidences of wisdom and understanding (Proverbs 17:27-28). Confess to the Lord any sinful tendencies in these areas.

•Pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him, having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His great might (Ephesians 1:16-19).

•Ponder the truth that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight (Proverbs 9:10). Ask God to increase your knowledge of the Holy One.

•Give God praise for His wisdom: “Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and how inscrutable His ways!” (Romans 11:33) “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might. He changes times and seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding; He reveals deep and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him” (Daniel 2:20-22).

•Boldly ask Him to reveal deep and hidden things to you.

•Commit to the Lord that you will choose wise companions and not foolish ones, agreeing with Him that whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm (Proverbs 13:20).

•Ask the Lord to keep you from being deceived about true wisdom, understanding that the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God (I Corinthians 3:18-19).

Lord, open our lips.

And our mouth shall proclaim your praise.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:

as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Worship the Lord in the beauty of his holiness:

Come let us adore him.

Prayer of Confession

Lord forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. Cast us not away from your presence and take not your holy Spirit from us. Teach us to love justice, kindness and to walk humbly with you.

A Call to Praise

Psalm 34

I bless GOD every chance I get;

my lungs expand with his praise.

I live and breathe GOD;

if things aren't going well, hear this and be happy: Join me in spreading the news;

together let's get the word out.

GOD met me more than halfway,

he freed me from my anxious fears.

Look at him; give him your warmest smile.

Never hide your feelings from him.

When I was desperate, I called out,

and GOD got me out of a tight spot.

GOD's angel sets up a circle

of protection around us while we pray.

Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see— how good GOD is.

Blessed are you who run to him. (take a few moments to praise God with your own words)

Revival Verse of the Day

Matthew 24:14 – And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy Name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass

against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory,

for ever and ever. Amen.

Monday September 9

Let the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, our strength and our redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Prayer of Confession

Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from Your ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; and we have done those things which we ought not to have done; and before there is nothing righteous in us. O Lord, have mercy upon us. Spare those, O God, who confess their faults. Restore those who are penitent; according to Your promises declared unto men in Christ Jesus our Lord. Grant that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life; to the glory of His name. Amen

Hymn: A Mighty Fortress Is Our God

A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing;

Our helper He, amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing:

For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe;

His craft and power are great, and, armed with cruel hate,

On earth is not his equal.

Did we in our strength confide, our striving would be losing;

Were not the right Man on our side, the Man of God's own choosing:

Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He;

Lord Sabaoth, His Name, from age to age the same,

And He must win the battle.

That word above all earthly powers, no thanks to them, abideth;

The Spirit and the gifts are ours through Him Who with us sideth:

Let goods and kindred go, this mortal life also;

The body they may kill: God's truth abideth still,

His kingdom is forever.

Revival Verse of the Day

John 3:16-17 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Prayer for Victory

•Declare the promise that the Lord our God is the One who goes with us to fight for us against our enemies, to give us the victory (Deuteronomy 20:4).

•Confess to the Lord that those who remain steadfast under trial are blessed, for when they have stood the test they will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him. Pray that He would give us a steadfast spirit that will endure under temptation (James 1:12).

•Pray that we wouldn’t rely on our own power, but would be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Commit to God that we will put on His whole armor each day, that we may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Acknowledge that we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:10-12).

•Rejoice in God’s provision which allows us to proclaim, “O death, where is our victory? O death, where is our sting?” Praise Him for the victory over sin and death, made available through our Lord Jesus Christ. Ask for His grace to help us be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord our labor is not in vain (I Corinthians 15:55-58).

•Ask that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give us the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him, having the eyes of our heart enlightened, that we may know what is the hope to which He has called us, what are the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power toward we who believe, according to the working of His great might that He worked in Christ when He raised him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:17-20).

•Marvel at the truth that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is now within us. Ask God to show us how to apply that power to secure victory in our life.

•Exult in God’s promise that everyone who has been born of Him overcomes the world. Ponder the truth that our faith is the victory that has overcome the world (I John 5:4), and ask the Lord to strengthen our faith.

Tuesday September 10

Send out your light and your truth, that they may lead me, and bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling. Psalm 43:3

Prayer of Confession

Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.

Most merciful God,

we confess that we have sinned against you

in thought, word, and deed,

by what we have done,

and by what we have left undone.

We have not loved you with our whole heart;

we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.

We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.

For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,

have mercy on us and forgive us;

that we may delight in your will,

and walk in your ways,

to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen.

A Call to Praise

Come let us sing to the Lord;

let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation.

Psalm 85:6– Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?

Prayers for Youth:

1. Salvation/Purpose: God has a plan and purpose for every student. We pray that many in this generation would come to Christ and follow Him as Lord and savior. Regardless of what their circumstances are, give them passion and a deep-seated knowledge of God’s  purpose for living.

2. Friendships: We know the truth that you are (and become) who you hang out with. We pray God will give today’s teenager wisdom in choosing their friends and that God will bring people into their lives who will point them to Christ. I also pray that He will use students to encourage and build up each other like never before.

3. Character: Today’s teen is bombarded with every temptation known to man, and the enemy is seeking to destroy their character. We pray that young people may experience an ongoing transformation by having their minds renewed and that they will be examples to the world in their speech, lives, love, faith and purity. I also ask for more great Christ-like role models for our students, particularly among their own peers.

4. Purity: We pray that God would give our students more a hunger for righteousness than a sexual appetite, and that they would see through the enemy’s lies. We ask God to strengthen them and give them the drive to flee sexual immorality and help them reserve the gift of sex for marriage.

5. Passion: May God grant this generation an anointing of power by the Holy Spirit to be the greatest witnesses for Christ Jesus that we’ve ever known. We also pray that their zeal for obedience would supersede any other human desire that they have.

6. Money: The root of evil is the love of money. We pray that God would give spiritual eyes to today’s teen and help them to view money as a great resource for Kingdom purposes. May God grant them contentment in all things because of their richness in Christ Jesus.

7. Submission and Honor: We pray that this generation would submit to Christ and to those in authority over them. May God give them grace to love, respect and honor their parents, teachers, spiritual leaders and governing officials.

8. Spiritual Growth: We pray that God nurtures the soil of the hearts of young people and grants them a greater sensitivity to their spirit so that they may grow in the knowledge and grace of Jesus Christ. We also pray for more passionate workers for the harvest of youth ministry.

9. Discernment: We pray God would give our teenagers the knowledge of the truth of God and spiritual eyes to see so that the enemy would not be able to deceive them. I pray they may also be able to discern between the teachings of the Living God and false gods or prophets.

10. Hope: May God help today’s teen take every thought captive for Christ. We pray He would also fill every young person with the hope of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and protect their minds and hearts from hopelessness. May God also help them to cling to Christ during discouragement and soak up His strength when offering this same hope to others.

Wednesday September 11

For you created everything that is,

and by your will they were created and have their being;

• Ask for God’s grace to help you all abhor what is evil and hold fast to what is good;

Thursday September 12

Be joyful in the Lord, all you lands;

serve the Lord with gladness

and come before his presence with a song.

Know this: The Lord himself is God;

he himself has made us, and we are his;

we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving;

go into his courts with praise;

give thanks to him and call upon his Name.

For the Lord is good;

his mercy is everlasting;

and his faithfulness endures from age to age. (take a few moments to praise God with your own words)

Revival Verse of the Day

Acts 3:19-20 “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus.”

Almighty and eternal God,

so draw our hearts to you,

so guide our minds,

so fill our imaginations,

so control our wills,

that we may be wholly yours,

utterly dedicated unto you;

and then use us, we pray you, as you will,

and always to your glory and the welfare of your people;

through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Amen.

A Prayer for Justice

Lord, may justice flow like a river reaching barren lands and sun scorched deserts where people feel forgotten and hopeless. Let your water of life comfort them where children lie abandoned or abused. Let your water of life protect them where communities suffer at the hands of prejudice. Let your water of life shield them Lord, we ask for a mighty downpour from heaven. May your sons and daughters hear your voice. May we live as you lead us to live, go as you bid us to go, serve as you inspire us to serve, give as you teach us to give. May we do this until the earth is covered with your glory, oh God, as the waters cover the sea. In Jesus’s name, Amen!

Friday September 13

Be joyful in the Lord, all you lands;

serve the Lord with gladness

and come before his presence with a song.

Know this: The Lord himself is God;

Prayer for the Lost

1)Pray that the Holy Spirit would convict them of their own sin, and bring awareness of God’s righteousness and their coming judgment apart from salvation. (John 16:8)

3.) Ask God to rescue them from the kingdom of darkness and bring them to the kingdom of His Son. (Colossians 1:13)

5.) Mourn with God that they are separate from Christ, excluded from the family of God, without hope and without God in the world. Then ask that in Christ Jesus those who are far away would be brought near by the blood of Christ. (Ephesians 2:12-13)

6.) Pray that the truth would be united with faith in their hearts. (Hebrews 4:2)

7.) Ask God to lead them toward accepting His gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus. (Romans 6:23)

9.) Acknowledge that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him. (John 14:6) Ask that they would confess their sins, claiming God’s promise of forgiveness and cleansing. (I John 1:9)

10.) Pray that the gospel would be unveiled to them. Ask that God would defeat Satan, who has blinded their minds to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)

Saturday September 14

Psalm 34

I bless GOD every chance I get;

my lungs expand with his praise.

I live and breathe GOD;

if things aren't going well, hear this and be happy: Join me in spreading the news;

together let's get the word out.

Isaiah 57:15 For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

•Ask the Lord to enable and inspire our church members to use their spiritual gifts to serve each other (I Peter 4:10-11).

•Plead with God to enable our local church to receive the word of God not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, and that this Word would work in those who believe (I Thessalonians 2:13).

The Nation(s)

Lord, keep this nation under your care;

And guide us in the way of justice and truth.

Let your way be known upon earth;

Your saving health among all nations.

Let not the needy, O Lord, be forgotten;

Nor the hope of the poor be taken away.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy Name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass

against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory,

for ever and ever. Amen.
